Are you looking for a way to introduce the reading strategy EAGLE EYE? Each of the practice opportunities in this packet are centered around the theme of school to ensure that students all have the schema needed to use the strategy taught. Of course the best way to practice this strategy is to use it in independent reading, but I wanted to create some activities that I could use in either whole group or small group introduction lessons as well as activities that could be added into a reading center for continued practice.
Within this packet you will find:
Full color illustrated mini-posters with a sentence containing “tricky” words, great for whole group or small group practice
Individual cards for students to use in partner or independent practice
Eagle Eye Spy printables (in both color and blackline master format), great for center or individual practice
A printable student reader
A Eagle Eye strategy student journal for students to record and share the words that they were able to read using the strategy
