Mr. Fox is here to play a fun game called What Does the Fox Say? Mr. Fox will help teach students that when they hear the sounds
/f/ /i/ //sh/ they can blend those sounds together to say fish.
This packet is full of activities to help emergent readers develop the skill of blending phonemes (sounds) together to read words.
Included in the packet are:

*10 cards to model blending sounds together with dots to help early emergent readers. The reader then reads the word and finds the picture card that matches the word they read.

*50 Speedy Fox Reading Fun Cards:
A student drives a car under the sound box card saying the sounds. The student then drives the car faster as they blend the sounds together faster to say the word. The reader then takes off the paper clip to see the hidden picture underneath to check his answer.

*6 assessment sheets where students blend sounds together to read the word and draw a picture of the word
*13 assessment sheets where students blend sounds together to read the word and cut out the matching picture
*60 Sound Blender cards that can be hole punched and put on a ring. These cards can be used as transitions or as your class is waiting in line at the bathroom or for lunch. For example, the teacher will say /r/ /o/ /ck/ /e/ /t/ and the student will blend the sounds together and say rocket.
*Fox Talk Bingo includes 8 bingo boards and calling cards where the teacher will call out the sounds /h/ /u/ /g/ and the student will cover the picture on his/her game board.
These activities can be used whole group, small group, and as part of your RtI time.
