A house-shaped frame for success criteria (WILF) with the 'Foundations of Writing' holding the house up.
I use this on the whiteboard and build my success criteria for any piece of writing with the children on the whiteboard inside the frame. It helps to move them away from the idea that all a piece of writing needs is capitals and full stops as they realise that these are indispensable to keep any writing 'up'.
Also attached is a template for printing mini versions on post-its. Once you have generated the criteria with the children, they can write them on their post-it and use as reference for self/peer assessment.
