Whether it's the beginning or the middle of the school year, it's good to remind students what they are working on in speech therapy sessions. In August or September kids need refreshers about their goals and why they work with the "speech teacher." But as the school year continues, students improve, they reach goals, and IEPs are revised and updated. Kids need reminders as they change and grow.
Students fill out the sheet and leave it in their speech folder. Then they can pull it out before sessions and refocus on the reasons why they are in speech. And they can see their progress. "I don't need to work on my sound anymore" -- nothing better than hearing that (for both the student and the SLP)!
