For this project, students are going to investigate a crime scene that another group in class has put together. Once students see the crime scene, their respective teams ( of 4) will be responsible for the following:
Preservation of the crime scene.
Rough sketch of the crime scene with overall measurements as well as measurements to any clues (including a body)
Narrative on what group thinks happened at the crime scene in the form of a: A. Paragraph summary AND B. Video re-enactment
Students are to:
Limit your crime to one victim and no more than two perpetrators.
Describe the motive.
Detail the actual crime. What weapon(s) were used? How was the victim killed? What is the manner and cause of death?
Detail the clues that have been left behind at the scene so that their teams can gather them together and set up the scene.
And finally, student are going to have to film their group’s actual crimes being committed! After all teams have made their narrative, the class will watch their re-enactments and compare them with the “actual crimes” to see how close each group was in solving the crime!
