This resource includes 10 task cards that provide instructions for an independent activity directly related to the text. And who doesn’t love that? Each task card encourages critical thinking about the text, requires some measure of response, and offers insight into students' comprehension.

Created to be versatile, the cards are designed to apply to various points in a book, providing options and independence for readers (and teachers!).

Use the Task Cards in any number of ways: as in-class activities, for homework, options for "early" finishers, activities for an emergency sub folder, one or more literacy centers, or as discussion starters for small or large groups. Laminate the cards or make multiple copies so each student has their own set - it's completely your choice! The options for using these cards are endless.
