STEM Challenges, perfect for Maker Space classroom, K-6th grade
INTEGRATE STEM IN YOUR CLASSROOM WITH THESE GEOLOGICAL LESSONS!
Students will dig a little deeper into rocks and soil as they complete these geological activities! This challenge set includes engineering a shovel, investigating soil profiles, learning what lies beneath in an archaeological dig, piecing together a sedimentary puzzle, digging through trash to take on a role of a garbologists, and designing a system to haul 5 rocks. The set includes seven activities that will keep your students engaged and excited to learn more.
Students will develop critical thinking and engineering skills as they work through the challenge. They will use the engineer design process the brainstorm, plan, create, test and improve! Opportunities for reflection are incorporated into the activity.
