This activity packet contains 2 different activities that will help your students name the different parts that objects have. I think that being able to name the parts of an object or animals helps students be able to describe and define the word more completely. Both activities have a cute robot theme! I have also included black-and-white homework pages.
Activity 1: There are 24 pairs of cards. One card has a picture of an object and the prompt “What parts does it have?” The other card in each pair has a list of 3-5 different parts and the prompt “What object has all these parts?” Students should match the list of parts to the correct object. You can either read the list of parts to your students and have them find the matching object or you can show the student the picture and see if they can list all the parts on the card.
Activity 2: In this activity, students are asked to name 3 objects that share the same part. Each card has a prompt such as “name 3 objects that have a lock” or “name 3 animals that have claws.” There are 24 different cards.
Homework Pages: There are 2 pages which ask students to identify which object has a specific part and 2 pages which ask students to identify which object does NOT have a specific part. For each question, there are 3 picture choices. There are 6 questions on each page.
I have also included a graphic organizer to help your students list the parts that an object has.
