There are multiple handouts and activities for students to complete. Students participate in discussions, debates, a jigsaw and writing and reading activities to develop a deeper understanding of the government's role in the economy by analyzing different types of taxes, assessing spending decisions and government programs, and learning about the difference between the deficit and debt.
There is also an accompanying powerpoint with openers, closers and whole class activities.
