Anyone working with students who struggles with social skills has likely experienced a student overreacting to a problem. Does not being first in line result in a meltdown? What Size Is the Problem task cards are designed to address this skill. Four card types are included: Little Problem, Medium Problem, Big Problem, and Not a Problem. All problems in this packet are specifically related to situations students might experience during October (e.g. World Series, Halloween, apple picking, cooler weather, etc.). Students are asked to read each situation and determine what size problem the situation is. Extension tasks can include: identifying how to solve the problem, determining an appropriate reaction to the problem, and determining how others might judge expected/unexpected reactions.
30 different situations included!
Small/Medium/Big/No Problem cards can be reused to reinforce these concepts during small group conversations and less structured therapy activities.
