Students will learn to match visual images with written descriptions. They will be provided with descriptions of five common U.S. trees and given five illustrations of a child around their age in their backyard with one of the five trees incorporated into the picture. It will be their task to answer the question of “What tree do I see?” They will have to refer back to the written description in order to properly identify the five most common trees found in the United States of America. This activity really helps students to practice paying attention to details and the importance of descriptive language in reading and writing. Guaranteed to keep student attention due to the activities "detective like" nature. Enjoy!
