This is a set of 3 activity sheets to accompany the Phonics Library story "What Will Lester Be?" from the Houghton Mifflin reading program. New! Revised in February 2011 to include writing skills as tested on state tests and benchmark tests! These are great activities for independent work during universal access time. The sheets for this story cover the following skills: compound words, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, personal connections, writing skills, ABC order, possessives, syllables, plurals, fact/opinion, cause/effect, contractions, sentence types, the suffix -er, sequencing, table of contents, and punctuation and quotation marks. In my classroom, the children complete these during independent work time, then we check answers together. They love doing them!
