This pdf file has a bunch of different activities that students can work on during a Life Skills class, or during some down time. One of the activities has a list of important but difficult questions that students have to answer. They have to decided how they would handle specific situations and explain why they would choose to handle the situation in that way. There is another activity called "Putting Up a Fight" where students have to figure out what they value most, and hopefully they will learn to see what is really important in life. A third activity is called "I Hate it When" where students have to list three things that bother them. The goal is to get the students to see that they all have more in common with each other than they realize. The last activity is "New Years Resolution", but in the past I have changed the title to "New School Year Resolutions". Students not only have to decide what they want to improve in or do differently, but they actually have to set up a realistic plan to achieve this goal. With this activity, students can no longer just say "I want to do better in school". They actually have to make a real life plan for accomplishing it.
