These stories and accompanying activities motivate children to look at alternatives before reaching decisions as to what's right and what's wrong—at least for them. The open-ended stories prompt children to think about their own feelings and experiences as they identify with the characters in the stories. Youngsters are encouraged to develop a standard set of values by which to live.
The activities which follow each story were especially designed to help develop students' critical- and creative-thinking skills.
Included are 8 open-ended stories. Following each story are 4 activity sheets. Answers to some of the activities are provided. A word search and story starters are also provided.
