Looking to incorporate social-emotional learning throughout the day? This pack contains 30 “What Would you Do” activities at two different levels. Many of these questions came out of my own experiences and are open-ended so there may be many different options for answers. These activities are designed to be used with partners during reading center time. Students read the question and then discuss with their partner. After discussing they fill out the sheet (either alone or can support each other). Either with partners or as a whole group, these questions are a wonderful way to combine social emotional learning with CCSS! These questions can lead to great discussions connected to your social emotional curriculum (we use Kelso’s Choice, Second Step, and RULER) especially about being a “bystander” and during the activity the students are meeting Speaking/Listening and Writing CCSS!
There are also blank forms so you can make up situations that arise in your classroom. I do one about finding a blank “yellow ticket” (our school wide positive behavior form) on the ground. It is especially powerful to personalize it to your school/classroom! Included at the end of each section is an example to help get you started.
