Pg. 3-4 Color the Sounds! – color the pictures depending on what sound they begin with
Pg. 5-8 Read a Word – Rainbow and Ladders! – this High Frequency Word game is played just like Chutes and Ladders – a dice is needed
Pg. 9-11 Capitals and Periods! – Let’s Make a Sentence! – cut out the letters and periods and use them to create three sentences - the capitals and periods are in red for easy recognition – this can be laminated and reused or copied off in black and white for each student to glue the words onto the page and take home
Pg. 12-16 It’s Written in the Stars / My Star Words – cut out the letters – use the letters sounds that you know to form words – record the words that you make into your star book – this is a great time for students to practice their letter sounds, blending, and letter formation
Pg. 17-19 Look at the Clouds… What Do You See? - copy the border onto blue paper – take the students outside if possible to look at the clouds- look for pictures in the sky – take cotton balls and stretch them out and glue them to show what you see in the sky – write about it – attach art work and writing to a larger piece of paper
Pg. 20-23 Peek Out My Window… What Can I See in the Sky? – a book to read and illustrate – copy the cover – copy pages A and B back to back – staple in the middle to form a book
Pg. 24-26 Sequence of Events – practice putting the story into sequential order – this can be done as a whole class activity or in a small group – can be laminated
Pg. 27-29 Sequence of Events! – put the pictures in sequential order – three rows of pictures that you cut out and glue in order in the numbered boxes
Pg. 30-33 What Is My Favorite Thing in the Sky? – a chance to share what they like best in the sky – copy pages A and B back to back to form a book – write and illustrate
