Product Description
Pragmatic language and perspective taking skills for early elementary children. This activity supports the development of making guesses (inferencing) about what someone is thinking by observing what they are looking at (early perspective taking).

For some of our kiddos, perspective taking must be explicitly taught. This is a basic activity for using eye gaze to determine the thoughts and feelings of others (pragmatic language development).

We were recently playing a game where my speech kiddos had to pick an item in the room and "look at it" while their group mates had to guess what they were thinking about. What I found was that some of my kiddos had difficulty just finding an item to look at. I made these cards to support this activity.

There are 2 card sets (which can be played together or separately). With the "Look at a ..." cards, the individual chooses a card which has instruction to look at an item typically found in a classroom or speech room. For the "What are they thinking cards" they practice thinking about 2 different things they might think about when looking at the object.

This activity also includes:
24 "Look at a ..." (color and black & white sets)
16 "What are they thinking cards" (color and black & white sets)
General game board (that can be colored)
Matching worksheet activity
Maze worksheet activity

Enjoy looking and thinking with "What are they thinking?"
