Product Description
This is a really fun lab that goes along with the Scientific Method. Students will explore different types of "beaks" along the way and will be able to test out which type of beak can pick up a lot of food. Beak types are spoons, plastic tweezers, scissors, and clothespins. The food will be marbles, pipe cleaners, and washers. Each type represents a different type of food. Students have two minutes to pick up as much food as they can. The teacher is the hawk that walks around to make sure that each bird stays on task.

I have included a powerpoint with a lab sheet. After students collect their data, they can graph their information and answer reflection questions. Students get very competitive with this lab. They really enjoyed it last year while we went over this unit.
