This is an individual lesson from our Pattern English book series for fun conversation. If you are interested in purchasing the entire set, please check out our other listings on our page.

We wanted to make a fun book that teaches grammar accurately, so we made this! It is based on the CEFR grammar structures found in the Grammar in Use series. We want youths and adults to be able to learn to build conversations with the aid of conveniently pre-arranged grammar structures.

About us:

We've had a ton of fun designing and laying out these patterns and questions. We've been teaching English as a Foreign Language for over 20 years combined, and we've always had trouble finding decent conversation material - especially with English real native speakers would use.

Procedure:

1. Have students raise their hands to ask you the questions on Page 2.

2. Respond to their questions with the lesson's Answer Patterns.

3. After that short conversation, ask the students if they can guess what the Question and Answer patterns are for the lesson. Write the patterns on the board.

4. Ask each individual student a question using the Question Pattern. Allow them to respond using the Answer pattern.

5. Go over, and explain any vocabulary the students are having trouble understanding.

6.Divide the students into pairs or groups, and give them 3-5 minutes to have a conversation with each other using the conversation questions on page 5.

7. When time is over, have each student share some interesting parts of their conversation with the class.

8. Now, have each student create 6 of their own questions using the grammar pattern.

9. After they've finished, divide them into pairs or groups to talk again.

10. After their second conversation, the students should write a brief presentation about their classmates as homework and present it during the next class.
