I found that my students were having a really difficult time determining when to use "gusta" and when to use "gustan", and I came up with this simple and fun way to practice.
This Power Point has over 60 pictures of items, people, and activities that students might like or dislike. Using cards that say "A mí me gusta", "A mí me disgusta", "A mí me gustan", and "A mí me disgustan", students share their opinions about these pictures with the class.
The templates for these cards (4 per student) are included in this product as are instructions on how to use it in class.
I generally use it as a formative assessment and just mark errors as we zip through the pictures, but it could also be used as a jumping off point for some additional question and answer skills (¿Por qué te gusta? ¿Qué prefieres?). Students can work individually, in pairs, or in teams to see who gets the most (grammatically) correct answers.
It keeps my students engaged for a full class period, but it's easy to use over a series of lessons on gustar.
