This template can be used within any inquiry project by having students observe and represent what they see using a variety of art mediums (pencil crayon, paint, pastel, etc.). I used this template on a nature walk. The students were divided into small groups and given a hula hoop. They place the hula hoop around an area on the ground in nature and then sit, observe, and create representations based on what they see. It is a great lesson to get students to slow down and observe the nature around them so that they can make connections and develop a respect for it.
