This is a great short psychoeducational lesson for your elementary student for your anxiety prevention teaching. We always introduce anxiety as a feeling (emotion) and also in our thoughts. We talk about the role of the emotion- a normal part- in everyone's lives. When you think too much during the day or when it stops you from doing things, that's when your anxiety has gotten too big. We end on telling our student there is good news - that we can un-learn anxiety and feel better.
