Fixed typo on page 3 and updated fonts.
I created this interactive book to help solve the problem of needing an all in one resource for teaching government. My second graders absolutely loved having their own interactive book to follow along and fill out the details.
This book includes a table of contents, headings, sub headings, pictures, bolded text, and a glossary to help reinforce non-fiction text features.
Table of Contents
Description of what government is
Describes the 3 Branches of Government: Legislative, Executive, and judicial
Government Leaders: President, Governor, and Mayor
I learned page for reinforcement (with key)
How-to Assemble Guide
Mini-Assessment pages for both branches of government and government leaders
The Government leaders portion of the book is the interactive part of the book. Students will need to fill in blanks according to the different communities. There is also space left for a picture, you may print one out the president and your state and local officials or have students draw a picture.
If you're familiar with Reading A to Z and how some of their books go together, I modeled the layout of this interactive book just like it.
I hope you and your kids enjoy! :)
