What is Love Lesson 3 Learning Targets include:
Students will analyze the difference between the people who love you vs. selfish people.
Students will learn this by completing two activities.
Student’s knowledge will be assessed by completion of Love the Way You Lie Worksheet.
The greatest desire of the human heart is to be loved and loved well. No one wants to be loved a little bit, every now and then, or just used by others. People who love you behave differently than people who use you. Therefore, it is important for teenagers to learn what love is and be able to identify the actions/behaviors which reflect the emotion of love. The opposite of love is selfishness; people who use people are being selfish. Once people see the difference between Love and Selfish behavior, they can identify the people who love them and the people who try to use them for their own purposes. This information will improve their decision making ability and their need to establish boundaries for their friends to respect — friends don’t ask friends to do things they aren’t supposed to do which may ultimately negatively affect their future. (See Decision Making Unit, Techniques of No Unit, and/or Goals or Good Intentions Unit for more ideas.)
The Complete What is Love Unit contains 6 Lessons and a variety of supplemental materials. All lessons meet the National Health Standard and have clearly defined Daily Learning Targets/Objectives.
