Having a student who's brain is stuck on talking all the time about cartoons can be difficult. I have used this social story for kids who talk about certain video game characters like his friends. If he wasn't talking about it, he was acting it out. Additionally, he become emotionally attached to their outcomes and became anxious to get back to screen time! Deciphering between real life things and pretend things really helped to decrease his thinking on his characters. This story tells students how to tell if something is real and needing to have emotional connection and concern and something that is pretend, that does not need to occupy our thoughts and worries.
