This introduction begins with students looking over a list of things, and making an educated guess as to which they believe are minerals.
Students then enjoy a 20 slide PPT, with pictures, that goes over each part of the definition of a mineral. Students take notes on provided note sheet.
Students then complete Frayer Model cards (please see preview for this). Students can use their notes, or ask you to go back through PPT to understand each part of the definition. Once these are complete, students go back to their check list introduction to review which items are in fact minerals, which are not, and WHY. Directions included on how to make Frayer Model Fold ups for your INB.
