It should be easy to identify what a "multiple meaning word" is, however many people do not know what they are. Did you know there are three different types of multiple meaning words!? I didn't!
I created this chart to help myself, other teachers and my students differentiate between the different types of words.
Includes 1 poster that explains the different types and how they are all connected.
--Most of us have heard of homophones and homographs, which are two classes of multiple meaning words, but did you know there are subclasses?
--Explains what heterographs, homonyms and heteronyms are with examples of each!
