P. 3 Find Your Spelling Words! – find the spelling words and color them with the matching crayon color. Write your spelling words three times at the bottom of the page.
P. 4-5 A Pal Can Be With You – Say it, Glue it , and Write it – cut out the letters and glue them onto the Say it , Glue it, and Write it page. Copy the page with the letters on it and cut it in two. Enough for two students.
Pg. 6-9 Nouns! Person, Place, or Thing - copy side A and B back to back. Cut on the dotted lines, glue pictures under appropriate flap. The picture page can be cut in two – enough for two students.
Pg. 10-12 Main Idea Mobile – cut out, color, and write four details about the main idea “Pals” Examples: What pals do? Who can be a pal?
Pg. 13 My Proper Noun Book – write proper nouns for the people, places, and things.
Pg. 14- 19 I’m a Pal! - creative writing and craft project. Two choices of writing paper
(depending on how much you want to tackle at this time of year or for the more advanced writers) – have students write about how they can be a pal.
Pg. 20 – 21 Pal Match Up – match the pals in a concentration game. Can be played with two to three players – can be laminated
Pg. 22 Tic Tac Read! -this is a game that can be played with a partner. If they are able to read the word they can put and x or o on it. If they can’t read it , it’s their partner’s turn. this can or cannot be laminated. You can use wipe off markers or game pieces that can be placed on the board
Pg. 23-24 A Cat Can Be a Pal! – cut the paper strip of letters and pull through the cat to make new –at words
Pg. 25 Let’s Make an Accordion Word Family Book! – cut out,
fold on dotted lines with accordion folds, write down words with
ending sounds that match your spelling words
