What is a Scientist?
I use this at the beginning of the year to start my students' Science journals. We visit the Science Lab and explore everything in the lab. We discuss what a scientist does. We define the vocabulary on the chart to help the students understand. I ask them to try to come up with more words that can be added to the chart. We then put it in our journal as the first entry. During the next lab we go over Safety Rules in the Science lab. Then I explain to them that they are scientist, too. The students draw themselves as Scientists and write using the vocabulary words on how they are Scientists. This is C-Scope alligned.
