We create interactive science notebooks every year and they are definitely a work in progress!
These are the first entries in our science notebook every year! First, students draw a picture of what they think a scientist looks like, then write some things scientists do. They also color in the clip art and picture! I enlarge the “Good Scientists…” page to poster size and we hang it in the room. For the “I am a Scientist…” page, I either take a picture of each student during an early experiment or they draw one! I found disposable lab coats on ebay for about $1 each! Our science notebooks are composition books, so I reduce each page to 80% when I copy them.
For the science notebooks, we stack the three pages one on top of another and staple them along the top. They glue stick down the back of the last page into the notebook and the other ones can then be lifted up as needed.
I will be posting more of these interactive science notebook packs as I make them, topic by topic. You will be able to purchase the ones that are appropriate to your students and your curriculum!
