This activity is easily adaptable for most primary students, as the mode of expression is flexible.
Here is one way you may choose to use this prompt...
Have students recite and discuss the nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty."
Sample questions for discussion:
Who was Humpty Dumpty?
Where was he when he fell?
Who was there?
How did it happen?
When did the story take place?
Why did it happen?
Encourage students to be creative!
When a variety of ideas have been generated, have students use the prompt to help them create their own story about Humpty Dumpty. Students may choose to draw, write, storyboard, or even create a short play showing their ideas.
Have students share their stories about what REALLY happened to Humpty Dumpty.
My students really enjoyed this activity and were excited to share their creative storylines!
