With this student-centered activity, students practice identifying the tenses of sentences. Each student receives 3 pink cards: "past", "present", and "future" and 4 green cards: "simple", "continuous", "perfect" and "perfect continuous". The teacher uses the PowerPoint to project various sentences and students hold up a pink and green card to illustrate the tense of the sentence.

"What tense is it?" Powerpoint: Cover slide, Directions slide, and 24 slides with a single sentence. Each sentence slide also contains the correct tense of the sentence. teachers can reveal the answer once all students have held up their cards to show their answer.
