This is an informational scavenger hunt / study guide with text dependent questions using the book, What the World Eats. The photos are by Peter Menzel. The text is written by Faith D’Aluisio. (Book not included.)
This packet is designed to help guide students through the book, searching for information to complete the questions. It will help expose the students to the content and open the discussion for valuable conversations about world communities and their access to resources, including food, water, and electricity.
There are 5 pages of questions (50 questions in all) written in sequential order. Many questions site the page number where the information can be found making this very student friendly. Please check out the preview.
The pages may be used separately or given as a whole packet.
Answer keys are included.
There is a one page summary test and answer key at the end.
I use this with my third graders but let them work in teams to search for information. I recommend 1 book for each pair of students, if possible. We correct whole group and discuss the information as we go. My students love this book!
Upper grades may want to complete the pages independently.
