This is a great reflective activity for students that provides the opportunity to think outside of the classroom walls. Students have to reflect on their own world and think about "What life would be like without decimals?" This is a critical thinking activity/project that is interdisciplinary and incorporates both math and language arts. Students submit a detailed written response to the question along with detailed explanations regarding decimals. This file includes the student directions, writing prompt questions, writing template, rubric, and a graphic organizer is included in order to help them start thinking about where they have seen decimals outside of the classroom. . This activity can also be differentiated by having students do additional research about decimals or take pictures of where they see decimals in their real lives instead of doing a written response.
