If you include visuals of some sort as a means of engaging students in your units of study, whether it be Geography, Historical Structures, Landforms, Rivers, Children's Literature, Famous People, Monuments, or a myriad of other curricular areas, then this activity, What's Behind the House, is an interesting and intriguing way for kids to figure out answers, this time visual/spatially.
The idea is simple..Use one of the visuals of study, put a copy of a house in front of the visual, and let the kids look at the clues that are behind the windows of the house to figure out what they are seeing.
This packet gives you:
2 'houses' to choose from
2 examples of how the idea looks upon completion
1 score sheet for students to fill out
2 examples of visuals that the students may study at some time
Once again, this provides another choice for students in their learning process.
