Students will create a newspaper article to demonstrate their knowledge about a topic. The article must be accurate for the given time period and inform the reader about significant events, people, places, or things. Students will use an online newspaper clipping generator to create a real looking newspaper to print out and display. This lesson includes step-by-step procedures for completing the lesson, information literacy and technology literacy learning standards, curriculum standards, an example newspaper clipping from the night of President Lincoln’s assassination to show students as a model, and a grading rubric.
