UPDATE: This is now a bundle with both youtube videos as well as Powtoon videos I created. Having trouble accessing them? Included in the bundle is the downloaded video you can upload and create your own QR code! Also available is an editable version of the file to make it specific to your library!
As a review to library procedures as well as different areas of the library, I created this QR code scavenger hunt as a fun way to welcome back my 4th and 5th grade students to the library!
Note: While all videos are streamed through SafeShare.tv, these videos originate in YouTube. An alternate version that does NOT use YouTube is available:
*Scavenger Hunt Sheet (specific to Virginia schools participating in Virginia Reader's Choice)
*alternate Scavenger Hunt Sheet (non VA schools or schools not participating in VRC)
*QR codes on cute cards that, when scanned, either give a clue or the answer to the scavenger hunt question
*Virginia Readers Choice (or, if not participating, an alternate card for a book trailer for the book, Gone Fishing: a Novel in Verse)
*how to use the online catalog (we use Follett Destiny, but you it can be a generic question)
*how to check out a book
*how biographies are organized
Included is a suggested free app for the code reader. We use iPads in our library as well as Kindles, and it works well on both. My students have been so engaged with this activity! All videos are streamed through "Safe Share", so no worries about inappropriate ads or comments on YouTube!
