This is a fun and simple Lift the Flap book to engage children while practicing colors, categorization, attention to task, vocabulary and turn-taking. I have used it by letting each student hold a manipulative and wait for a turn, or by matching the manipulative to the picture in the book. It's really easy to make Lift the Flap books, (instructions included), and the kids love them! . I hope you have a great time with this one. I use it for my special needs preschool children and children with autism.
Instructions for this lift the flap book: Cut out the front part of the lunchbox, the part you would normally open. Glue the rest of the page to a plain piece of paper. Laminate both the lunchbox and the other part of the page. Attach the lunchbox to the page using packing tape to make the flap. Attach your Velcro to the page, under the lunchbox. Attach the other part of the Velcro on the manipulative. And just so you know, it does require some initial work as far as cutting and laminating, but you'll end up with a product that will last! I hope you enjoy it.
