Product Description
What’s Odd? is a activity that helps students to analyse what is different about a photo, picture or sentence. Students can look for or read the ‘odd’ thing and answer 3 key questions to explain what they think.

Print photo, picture and sentence cards, laminate and cut up. Print a question placemat for each student you will be playing the game with. There are optional tokens included (cards with ‘ticks’) that can be used as reinforcement for getting correct answers.

All cards are placed in piles on the table. Students take turns selecting one card from a pile and placing the card on their placemat. You can use all 3 types of ‘what’s odd?’ cards at once or one type of card within the game. Students answer the 3 questions on the placemat: What is the problem with the picture/sentence?, How would you change the picture/sentence so that it is no longer odd?, Is there a time when this picture/sentence could make sense and not be odd?. If students answer all questions correctly they collect a token.

Play continues until all cards have been analysed or until time permits. The winner is the student with the most tokens. The game can also be played just fun and practice and no winner is needed :)

★ 24 sentence cards
