This file includes a STEM challenge and lesson plan on sound that utilizes a free, internet-based, soundtrack software (easy to use!!) and that aligns closely to the following 4th Grade GPS in Science:
S4P2. Students will demonstrate how sound is produced by vibrating objects and how sound can be varied by changing the rate of vibration.
a. Investigate how sound is produced.
b. Recognize the conditions that cause pitch to vary.
It also includes a Sound Wordsplash/SPLAT and two sound wave diagrams for vocabulary instruction/review purposes.
***This activity could be used in various content areas and not just used in a science unit on sound. It would be engaging for students in a multitude of scenarios, but it may need to be revised to fit your individual needs.
