Portions, Portions, Portions!
We hear that portion sizes are growing every day. Did you know plate sizes are growing too? How can we teach healthy eating??
This activity and worksheets walk you through learning how to use a plate to determine healthy portions. Have students bring a plate from home or use different sizes of paper plates as a hands-on activity.
Also include are visuals to teach the difference between a starchy and non starchy vegetable - used in the My Plate activities by the USDA.
The worksheets have instructions and visuals so the lesson transcends the group activity.
