PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The living world is composed of four, and only four, types of molecules. Without lipids, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and proteins life as we know it would not exist. The presences of these molecules can be detected using very simple lab techniques. Through this lab student's will learn the procedures needed to detect the presence of these molecules and use their newfound skills to analyze a food of their choice.

This investigation will ask students to use sudan red, benedict's solution, biuret solution, and lugol solution to detect the presence of lipids, simple sugars, starches, and proteins. Your download includes a fully-editable student handout with all needed directions.
