This is such a fun way to end a school week. My students love playing What's in the Bag? game. This game helps students review the letter of the week.
Directions: Cut and paste the song What’s in the Bag located on the bottom of the page onto a small white or brown paper bag. Every Friday, place an item in the bag that begins with the letter(s) of the week. Students will guess what they believe is in the bag that begins with the letter(s) of the week. Write down the student’s guesses onto a whiteboard, chalkboard or chart paper. When writing the student’s guesses down, ask the class if each student’s guess begins with the letter(s) of the week. When everyone has taken their guess, circle the word written down on the whiteboard, chalk board or chart paper that is in the bag. Have students read the word out loud. If no one has guessed the item in the bag, start writing the item down slowly until a student can sound out what you are writing!
