Some of my students needed spelling/phonics practice but I wanted to make something easy for me, paperless, and something that my students could do independently or with a partner. I also wanted them to be able to check their OWN work and make sure they were spelling the words correctly. What's missing? Spelling Strips are a great activity to place at your word work center, can be used for fast finishers, morning work or can be a strategy focus during guided reading.
What did I like best about using them in my classroom?
*EASY PREP (print, cut and laminate)
*NO PAPER! (I got sick of paper being everywhere)
*Promotes self checking (the answer key was great for them to have while I was working with groups during guided reading - no interruptions!)
Be sure to check out the preview to see how I keep them organized and if they are right for your classroom!
