What educators are saying

This was a great resource to introduce retelling to my kiddos. They loved related it to ice cream and was a great visual aid for students.
I used this resource as a lesson planning tool for my interview with a new district. I loved the simplicity of this but also loved how thorough it was. And I got the job :)

Description

Retelling stories does not come naturally for some learners. They may include too many details or they don't even include the most important elements to the story.

That's where this fun, ice cream-themed story retelling pack comes into play. The acronym S.C.O.O.P. helps kids remember exactly what they need to include in the retelling of a story: setting, characters, oh no! (the problem), order of events, and problem solved (solution).

Plus kids will LOVE that they get to learn it all with ice cream scoops!

What's included?

-graphic organizer (with & without pictures)

-bookmarks

-single student worksheet

-interactive retelling page

-matching story elements to definitions

-mini wall charts

-wall posters

-cooperative work mats (empty for kids to draw picture or write on in a cooperative group setting)

-5 fiction SCOOP stories (original to me)**

-book list

-Blackline Copies

-From my Blog - articles related to teaching fiction comprehension

-Bonus Fiction Text Structure Chart

**NEWLY ADDED!**

If you have learners who need to work on retelling nonfiction, check out our our MUSH Nonfiction Retelling Pack!
