This is a game I created using SMART Notebook Software. I usually play this game during Red Ribbon Week. I hook up my lap top to the projector in the cafeteria, pull out a microphone and put on my gameshow voice to play. Students have an opportunity to play during lunch if they have signed a pledge card not to try drugs. Those pledge cards are collected by grade level. At each grade level lunch, I randomly pull students' names from the collected pledge cards and announce, "(Name) you are the next contestant on the Wheel of Healthy Choices!" Students come up to my lap top, press the button, the spinner spins, and then I announce the question the spinner has landed on. I allow students to use the microphone to answer the question and then they receive a small prize such as a pencil, tattoo or other Red Ribbon Week themed item. Afterwards I have the students in the cafeteria give them a round of applause for making healthy choices. We have a lot of fun doing this activity and it is amazing how quiet the kids will actually be during lunch to see and hear the others who get chosen to play. Kids absolutely love The Wheel of Healthy Choices and always ask when are we doing it again. I hope your students enjoy it too!
Your purchase includes 2 different spinners. One spinner has healthy choices questions, the other has drug awareness questions. Please make sure you have SMART Notebook software to play this game before purchasing this product. Presented by Creative Counseling Resources and The Creative Counselor Blog.
