[NO PRINT & NO PREP / Telepractice & In-Person]
Blake dreams about a lot of different things. Sometimes he dreams about things he saw during the day, but other times his dreams are COMPLETELY OUT OF THE BLUE! The one thing they all have in common is that they allow for ample practice with /l/ blends at whatever level your client is at (e.g. word, phrase, sentence, and/or conversation). Practice becomes fun within this narrative activity.
CLINICAL TARGET MASH-UP: Help students build vocabulary skills by encouraging them to guess targets based on the descriptions provided within the narrative; the fields of 4 and 12 at the end of the PowerPoint allow students opportunities to practice these same skills expressively by having the clinician “guess” what target they are looking at by providing descriptors. Regular and irregular past tense verbs are embedded within reflections about events which occurred earlier in Blake’s day. Discussion of the idiom “completely out of the blue” may segue to additional teaching and learning opportunities regarding nonliteral language use.
