When I Am Being Bullied is a social story that explains what a bully is and what some of the situations a kid can experience at school are. These situations include a kid repeatedly threatening and intimidating other kids, being physical (kicking, pinching, pushing, hitting, etc), invading someone's private space, cornering students in the bathroom, hallway, playground, or classroom when no one is watching, whispering mean things to others, etc. The story comes with a visual that describes three types of bullying: verbal, physical, and relational, offering example about each type. Included, there is also a worksheet that can be used with a student who is being bullied to determine what kind of behaviors he/she experiences, and three plans of action to help the student in a bullying situation.
The story offers concrete examples of what a student should do and say should they find themselves in a bullying situation (stand up for yourself, show no emotion, tell the bully to stop, inform an adult).
