As a special education teacher, I know how important classroom jobs can be to students with Autism. Not only does it teach responsibility and build community, but students can feel empowered by their ability to complete classroom jobs. Unfortunately, sometimes the job they want is not available. Students have to learn when that job, here the line leader, needs to be filled by someone else. You can use this social story as a way for students to cope with this situation.
