After reading the book; “My Mouth is a
Volcano’, by Julia Cook, students can
identify the emotions behind the blurting
out, and the effects of those actions.
They can then identify what their body
feels like before they blurt out. By
knowing how they feel before it happens,
they can start to identify tools that they
think will help in future similar situations.
Then students can tell what they learned
in the lesson on blurting out. The
lapbooks are easy to assemble using your
file folders. Just print, cut, and let your
students do the rest! It’s a fun tangible
item they can reflect on.
